zur buddhistischen Weltsicht
The book contains the essence of the teachings of His Holiness the
XIVth Dalai Lama during the "Kalachakra for World Peace, Graz
2002". His Holiness stresses the importance of compassion and
tolerance for the development of inner and outer peace. He elucidates
the Buddhist view of absolute reality and gives exceptional explanations
of Buiddhist tantra.
The teachings are based on three Buddhist texts: The Stages
of Meditation by Acharya Kamalashila, The Lamp on the Path
to Enlightenment by Lama Atisha and The 37 Practices of
the Bodhisattvas by Ngulchu Thogme Zangpo, which are also contained
in the book. A selection of photographs gives an impression of the
Kalachakra ceremony in Graz with over 10,000 participants from more
than 70 countries.

2000 in Spiti
In the summer of
2000, His Holiness the Dalai Lama conferred a Kalachakra Initiation
at Kee monastery in the remote, high-altitude Spiti valley in the
Himalayas, just a few mountain peaks away from occupied Tibet. For
the duration of two weeks, Kee monastery was the center of the Kalachakra
universe, the destination of thousands of Tibetans as well as Buddhists
from all over the western world.
