Lecture: "Inspiration, example, refuge: who was the Buddha?"

In Buddhism, the Buddha is worshipped as a spiritual teacher, but in reality it is his example that is venerated: just as Buddha Shakyamuni fully realised his human potential by reaching enlightenment, we can follow his path and thereby transcend our limitations and fully utilise our natural potential.

This lecture will discuss the life and qualities of the Buddha and examine the reasons, why he is an example even nowadays. The jatakas, stories about the Buddha's previous lives, will be our main focus.

There will be enough room for questions and discussion.
