     Shamatha (Skr.: shamatha, Tib.: shine, „calm abiding“)

     A step by step training in concentrated meditation for advancing  

     The mind is focussed on a sense object (breath, optical perception)
     or a mental object (visualisation of a Buddha or an energy centre)
     and should rest on this object for an ever prolonged period.
