Lecture for those who want to learn more about the history of Buddhism in the West:

 

  • early encounters with Buddha's teachings during the European classical era
  • interpretations of the Middle Ages
  • the colonial era and the Pali canon
  • early meditation communities in Europe
  • Tibetan exile and its impact
  • recognition as religious community in Austria
  • Neo-Buddhism, Engaged Buddhism

 

The lecture will close with a short meditation.

 

 

It is recommended to attend all lectures. However, beginners are always welcome!
