According to the Buddhist worldview monks and nuns, laymen and laywomen have the same potential for awakening, i.e. for attaining buddhahood.

This led to conflicts in the patriarchic societies of Asia.

At the time of the Buddha, Indian women had a low social position, nevertheless, Buddha accepted women in his community on equal terms with men a challenge in those times.

The lecture will close with a short meditation.

It is recommended to attend all lectures. However, beginners are always welcome!
